From the answer: Try Resetting the Updates Open the Update Window (Help; Update), go to the Update Tab and by the Update button you'll see a Check option to Reset Update.

Receive Payment without Invoice
From the answer: Sure.... If they have that many invoices that it doesn't match up.... Click on the Customer drop down and then Receive Payment.
