need to get my payroll subscription number

I never received my payroll subscription number since I purchase the payroll services

Answer

Hi Lesly,

Let's check your spam folder or Junk email to see if you've received the service key from there. Otherwise, we can use the automated Service Key Retrieval tool. Let me show you how:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Service Keys window.
  2. Click Employees, then My Payroll Service. If you do have Payroll Setup, choose Manage Payroll Service. If you don't, choose Add Payroll service.
  3. If you don't have a payroll service in your company file, choose Employeesthen Payroll, then Enter Payroll Service Key.
  4. In the QuickBooks Service Keys window: If you're not using the disk delivery service, select Add, if no payroll service is listed. Select Edit if a payroll service is listed.
  5. If you are using the disk delivery service: Click Edit, and take note of the service key.
  6. Remove payroll service key in QuickBooks Desktop.
  7. Click Add, and continue with the steps.
  8. Enter your service key in the Service Key field. (If you have the disk delivery service, you'll also need to enter the latest disk delivery key that you received.
  9. If you have the disk delivery service, you'll also need to enter the disk delivery key that you received.
  10. Click Next and then Finish.
  11. When the Payroll Update message appears, select OK.
  12. Verify the Service Status shows Active and then select OK.
Also, the automated tool may not work if:
  • There are multiple payroll orders in our system for your company.
  • You purchased your payroll product from a retail store.
  • Business phone number you provided did not match what Intuit has on file
I have this article for your reference about setting up a new employee in QuickBooks: Set Up A New Employee In QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

People come to QuickBooks Learn & Support for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:

  1. Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
  2. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
  3. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
  4. Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
  5. Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.
