modify the password to access QB online

Hello there, e.ramirez,

I can provide two ways on how you can modify your password to access QuickBooks Online. Let me guide you how.

If you're able to log in to your account in QBO, kindly follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon on the Toolbar.
  2. Under Profile, choose User Profile.
  3. Select the Sign In & Security section.
  4. Click Edit on the Password section.
  5. Enter your New passwordConfirm it, and your Current Password.
  6. Click Save, then Done.

Once completed, sign out to QuickBooks by going to the Gear icon, then log back in using your newly updated password.

You can check out this article for the detailed steps: How to Change your User ID or Password.

If you're unable to sign in to QBO, you can change your password by selecting the "I forgot my user ID or Password" hyperlink in the login page. Here's how:

  1. Visit this link:
  2. You'll be routed to the Get help signing in to window where you can Enter your phone number, email or user ID.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. You'll receive an email with your user ID.
  5. Click the Reset password button.
  6. Follow further instruction to complete the process.

Once done, you should be able to log back in to your QuickBooks account. I've attached screenshots below for your reference.

Please let me know if you have other concerns about accessing your QuickBooks account. I'm just around if you need help.

People come to QuickBooks Learn & Support for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:

  1. Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
  2. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
  3. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
  4. Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
  5. Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.
