Have just started to use Quickbooks Self Assessment and all looks great but I am having trouble choosing what categories to use as they don't really match my business requirements. It seems to be set up more for retail/office based rather than builders or other trades.
The categories are based on the boxes on the self assessment, defined by HMRC. We are unable to advise which categories to use, you would need to ask your accountant this. However, please find attached an article that takes you through the definition of each category here, this may help you decide.
