We received an email about an automatic renewal that is to happen on May 13, 2019 and we do not want to be renewed right now. I can not find a number to call.

I need to cancel before we are automatically renewed on May 13, 2019 because we may not need your services after May as we are going through a move and reconstructed the business with some other people. I do not want to have to fight to get a refund so I need to make sure we do not get auto billed. We do not want to be billed for payroll services or quickbooks desktop. I cannot find a phone number to call.

Answer

Thank you for trying QuickBooks, rmc45.

I can help you in making sure that your payroll subscription will be canceled so you will no longer be billed moving forward.

There are three different ways in canceling your QuickBooks Desktop Payroll subscription. Here are the following:

  • From your QuickBooks Desktop account.
  • Sending to us an online cancelation request.
  • Canceling through online.

From your QuickBooks Desktop account:

  1. Go to your Employees menu.
  2. Select My Payroll Service then Account/Billing Info.
  3. Provide your Intuit Account login
  4. From the Account Maintenance page, choose Cancel in the Service Information section.

To send a request online, simply go to this link: https://payroll.intuit.com/support/forms/cancellation/diy/ and follow the prompts to cancel the account.

Here's how to cancel through online:

  1. Go to your Intuit Account using your Intuit credentials.
  2. Select the Payroll Subscription that you're canceling.
  3. Click Cancel Service at the top right.
  4. Follow the remaining prompts to finish canceling the account.

See Cancel your QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Standard, Enhanced, or Basic service article for detailed guidance.

However, if you really want to talk to our Product Support team, you can either arrange a callback from a support agent or chat directly to them. Here's how to contact the QuickBooks Desktop Customer Support Team article for more information.

That should do it. If you have other concerns about the account, let me know by leaving a comment below. I’m always here to help. Have a great rest of the day.

People come to QuickBooks Learn & Support for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:

  1. Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
  2. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
  3. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
  4. Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
  5. Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.
