How to record income

I have set up a petty cash account to record expenses because my husband uses mostly cash for his business.  When he gets paid for his work can I deposit the income into this pertty cash account? Also, since I'm not using a real bank account, is there a way to reconcile these cash expenses or bring the petty cash balance to zero to start a new year?

How to record income

Good day, Desines.

I'd be delighted to share with you some information on how to record income via the QuickBooks Desktop.

To answer your questions, yes, you can deposit the income to your petty cash account.

Even if you're not using a real bank account, your income and expenses should zero out. I'd suggest consulting an accountant to guide you with zeroing out your petty cash account. Your accountant can provide more expert ways of dealing with this concern.
