We have Quickbooks POS 2013 is not exchanging data with Quickbooks pro 2014.

We had to recover our system from backups due to a hardware failure. We setup the QBPOS and QBPro exactly how we had it in the previous setup, however, now the exchange is not sending the last two weeks of data.

POS is saying that it is conducting an exchange but none of the data is showing in Pro.

We improved the security of QuickBooks Pro 2014 and QuickBooks POS 2013 over the past years. 

Since you're using the older version account, the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) service will be discontinued after May 31, 2019.

Your account will continue to work but you will not be able to subscribe to live technical support or any of the other Intuit services that can be integrated with QBDT. See the QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation (Disco) policy and upgrade information article for more details and other related questions.

In the meantime, you can use the "Find" function (CTRL + F on your keyboard) to look for the transactions in QuickBooks Desktop Pro.

To add, we recommend upgrading your QuickBooks to the latest version to maintain your access to the service, stay more secure and organized. By doing so, POS will exchange data with QBDT with no issue.

Here's how to get the latest version:

  1. Go to https://downloads.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/products.
  2. From the Select Country drop-down, select United States (US).
  3. From the Select Product drop-down, select QuickBooks Desktop Pro.
  4. From the Select Version, select 2019.
  5. Click Search.
  6. Click Get the latest updates.
  7. Click Save File to save the exe. file to a specific folder.
  8. Double-click to install the update. You may need to restart computer after the installation finishes.

To download the latest release of POS:

  1. Go to Downloads & Update web page.
  2. From the Select Product drop-down, choose QuickBooks Point of Sale.
  3. From the Select Edition drop-down, choose the appropriate edition.
  4. From the Select Version drop-down, choose the appropriate version or year.
  5. Click Search.
  6. Select Get the latest updates, then Save file to download update.
  7. When the download completes, double-click to install the file.
  8. You can install manual updates across your network either by:
    a. Accessing the install file on your computer from another computer.
    b. Copying the install file to a flash drive and then to the desktop of another computer.
