how do i edit the amount of a gst payment that has been recorded?

I made a quarterly GST payment and transferred the correct amount to CRA, however, I recorded the wrong amount on Quickbooks and entered the payment.  How do I edit this?



These things can happen, not to worry I’m here to help!

All you have to do is delete the payment you recorded and re-record it with the proper amount you paid to the CRA.

1.       Select Taxes from the left Navigation menu and click on the Payments tab

2.       Locate the incorrect payment

3.       In the Action column, click the drop down menu next to View

4.       Select Delete

5.       Toggle back over to the Returns tab

6.       Your filed return will now appear with an option to Record Payment

7.       Make any necessary adjustments to the payment amount and click Save
