I have Quickbooks Pro 2008 Asset and would like to know how to get my key code and product number. Thank you, Clay Wieland Photography

Hello, cwieland,

I can guide you to the best support that can help with the key code and product number.

You'll have to contact our Technical Support Team to get the code. Please reach through this link:

  1. Click https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Select your QuickBooks version in the upper right corner.
  3. Click Download and Register and then Register QuickBooks. When prompted, click No.
  4. Click Get Phone Number.

You can also refer to this support article for details: Register or activate QuickBooks Desktop.

For the product number it can be found in one of the following:

  • The original product packaging - The license and product numbers are on a scratch-off sticker located next to the UPC code.
  • The confirmation email you received when you purchased the product from Intuit.
  • The computer where you originally installed the product.
    a. Start the installation program by inserting the CD into the CD-ROM drive. The installation program should begin automatically.
    b. Select Reinstall.
    c. Write down the numbers that appear in the License and Product Number window and choose Cancel.

If you still cannot locate your installation number you can visit the QuickBooks License Look Up page to retrieve them.

If the lookup tool cannot find your license number or key code, you can contact our customer service for further assistance.

Here’s how to contact them: Contact Support.

I’ve also attached an article in case you need a reference on how to: Find missing license or product number.

Feel free to let me know if you have further questions. I'm always here to help. Have a wonderful day!

People come to QuickBooks Learn & Support for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:

  1. Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
  2. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
  3. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
  4. Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
  5. Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.
