Answer

Hello there, jgarcia.

Thank you for providing complete details of your concern. Let me help you sort this out.

In accessing your QuickBooks Self-Employed account, ensure you’re using the correct username. It could be a unique username or one different from your email address.

If you’re not sure what username or password to enter, let’s apply the following troubleshooting steps;

  1. Login via https://selfemployed.intuit.com/login.
  2. Below "Sign In," button, select the link "I forgot my User ID or Password".
  3. To retrieve your account, type your phone number, email or the exact User ID.
  4. If you choose to enter your email address, you will receive an email where you can see the Reset Password link.
  5. If your email address is associated with other Intuit product, just choose the specific username for your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  6. You will then be able to create a new set of password for your account.

Once you successfully reset your password, you can proceed with accessing your QuickBooks Self-Employed account. I have attached screenshots for your reference.

To ensure this issue is not browser-related, here’s how:

  • Access your account via a private or an incognito browser, press Ctrl+Shift+N or Ctrl+Shift+P.
  • Your browser’s history may cause problems with accessing your account. Thus, clearing your cache and cookies fixes certain problems, like password concerns, loading or formatting issues on sites.
  • Lastly, you can run the Browser Health Checkup tool to check your browser’s compatibility with the Intuit website.

Keep me posted on how things work on your end. I am always here to help you access your account.

People come to QuickBooks Learn & Support for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:

  1. Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
  2. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
  3. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
  4. Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
  5. Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.
