Is there a way to create a payment link on our company website for customers to use and make a payment without the invoice?

We currently have a paypal link on our website for customers to make payments. We would like to use Intuit fully rather than paypal. Is this possible?

Answer

Hello lauren,

I have a few suggestions on how you can use our product to manage your customer payments.

The option to attached an Intuit payment link directly into your company website isn't available. QuickBooks Desktop offers a different alternative though so you can still get paid fast.

However, you'll be needing to create and send invoices with payment links. Once your clients click on it, their payments will be processed and deposited directly into your bank account.

To use this, you'll need to first apply for a QuickBooks Payment account. When approved, you can then connect it to your QuickBooks Desktop software.

Apply for a QuickBooks Payments account:
  1. Go to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/payments/.
  2. Under Start accepting payments with QuickBooks today, select QuickBooks Desktop Payments.
  3. Choose the plan which suits you well, and click Get started.
  4. Complete the online form to submit your payments account application to us.

To Connect your Payment Account:

  1. Go to Customers at the top menu bar, then select Link Payment Service to Company File.
  2. Enter the User ID and Password that you created when applying and pick Link Service.
  3. Click Transfer.
  4. When prompted, confirm the transfer of your service by clicking Yes, transfer.

If this option won't work for you, we have a wide variety of third-party application apps you can use. Feel free to go over the available customer payment applications from our Intuit Marketplace: Apps for QuickBooks Desktop.

If you need help in integrating the application, you can go to our QuickBooks Desktop Intuit Developer Forum. You can also opt to let our product developers know if you want this feature be added in the future.

Just go to Help, then Send Feedback Online and click Product Suggestions. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have questions. I'll be here anytime.

People come to QuickBooks Learn & Support for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:

  1. Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
  2. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
  3. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
  4. Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
  5. Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.
