I filed and closed GST return based on cash basis. Realised I should file based on accrual. What should I do during next filing to include the adjustments?

Hi Beginner, thanks for posting!

When filing for your GST in the next period, simply set the accounting method to Accrual Basis. QBO would automatically make these adjustments for you.

1.) Click on Taxes from the left hand pane
2.) Click on Edit GST at the top right
3.) Select Edit Settings
4.) Select Accrual

Once the above setting is done, while viewing the Taxes -> Prepare Returns page you would see an extra column Open Transactions which are the unpaid invoices that were not included in your filing in the previous period while on cash basis.
