Error when logging on to quickbooks:only one user at a time is allowed to access employees, payroll items.

Other terminals get the following error when the accountant is performing payroll activities.  If they accountant logs off, then the other users are able to login.

You are getting this error message because QuickBooks Desktop only allows one user at a time to perform payroll tasks while in multi-user. If other users still see this message even though they are not working in a payroll related area, they can follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Go to the Windows menu.
  2. Select Close All.
  3. Log out of the company file. 
  4. If needed, reboot the computer.
