Use Glance for desktop sharing with QuickBooks Support experts

Share your desktop with a QuickBooks Support expert using the Glance desktop sharing tool. This helps experts view your QuickBooks interface and desktop to resolve issues like file uploads or migrating from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks experts use SmartLook to view QuickBooks in some instances.

Steps on how to use Glance

Follow the steps in this article only when requested by your QuickBooks Support expert:

  1. Go to glance.intuit.com. A zip file should automatically download.
  2. Select the downloaded file to open it.
  3. On the webpage, select click here to start Glance. 
    Note: If prompted for permission to show your screen, follow the on-screen instructions to grant access.
  4. When prompted, select Open Glance Guest.app.
  5. A unique code will appear on your screen.
  6. Give this code to your QuickBooks Support expert so they can join the session.
Your privacy and security are important to us. QuickBooks Support experts can't take over your desktop or mouse and can't download or open anything on your computer.

Result

Once the connection is established, your QuickBooks Support expert will be able to view your desktop. They can walk you through the troubleshooting steps in real time.

Next steps

  • End the session once your issue is resolved.
  • Close the Glance app or browser window if it doesn’t close automatically.
  • If you continue to have issues, reconnect or contact support again.
