Fix unknown client-specific tax form printing error

You may see the error message Unknown client-specific tax form printing error 214, 539, 202, or 10508 when you try to print your federal or state payroll tax forms. This happens when there’s a problem with your last tax table update. 

To fix this error, try this step.

Download the latest tax table

  1. Go to Employees menu, then select Get Payroll Updates.
  2. In the Get Payroll Updates window, select Update.

You can also try to reset the entire payroll update. Press the CTRL key on your keyboard and select Update in QuickBooks at the same time.
