Learn how to edit basic information about your company.

On your company's Account Settings page the following information can be changed:

  • Company name and Taxpayer identification number.
  • Company contact information (phone, email address, and website).
  • Company address.
  • Preferences for promotional offers from Intuit.

Change Company name

  1. Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar.
  2. Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
  3. From the left menu, select the Company tab.
  4. In the Company name section, select the pencil (edit) icon to open the fields for editing.
  5. Enter the new name in the Company Name field.
  6. If the company's legal name is different from the Company name you entered, enter the legal name in the Legal name field.
    If the company's legal name is the same as the name you entered, select the Same as company name checkbox. If the legal name is different, enter the legal name in the Legal name field.
  7. In the EIN/SSN field, specify whether the company uses an EIN or SSN, and enter or edit your employer identification number in the field provided.
  8. Select Done.

Your company information is changed.

Change Contact information

  1. Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar.
  2. Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
  3. From the left menu, select the Company tab.
  4. In the Contact info section, select the pencil (edit) icon to open the fields for editing.
  5. In the Company email field, enter a company email address that QuickBooks can use to contact you.
  6. If you use the same email address for your customers, select the Same as company email checkbox in the Customer-facing email field.
  7. Enter a Company phone number as it appears on your sales forms.
  8. In the Website field, enter the URL of your company website as it appears on your sales forms.
  9. Select Done.

The contact information you entered is saved and appears on your sales forms, were appropriate.

Change Company addresses

You can enter up to three different addresses for your company:

  • Company address: Address where your company is physically located
  • Customer-facing address: Address used for communicating with your customers
  • Legal address: Address used when filing tax forms

To change any of your company addresses:

  1. Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar.
  2. Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
  3. From the left menu, select the Company tab.
  4. In the Address section, select the pencil (edit) icon to open the fields for editing.
  5. In the Company address field, enter the main address for your company.
  6. In the Customer-facing address field, enter an address for your customers use to contact you or send payments, or select the Same as company address checkbox if it is the same as the Company address you entered.
  7. In the Legal address field, enter the legal address you use when filing your company's taxes, or select the Same as company address checkbox if it is the same as the Company address you entered.
  8. Select Done.

Your addresses are changed or updated as you specified.

Change Preferences for promotional offers from Intuit

  1. Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar.
  2. Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
  3. From the left menu, select the Company tab.
  4. In the Communications with Intuit section, select the Marketing Preferences link.
  5. On the Select Your Marketing Preferences page, select the appropriate checkboxes to let us know if and how you want to receive promotional offers from Intuit.
  6. Select Done.

Your preferences are saved.
