You can change the income account for any given product or service item.

Changing the account for a product/service item

To change the account for a Product/Service item:

  1. Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar.
  2. Under Lists, select Products and Services.
  3. On the Action column of the Product/Service you want to edit, select Edit.

  4. From the Income Account drop-down, select the new account.
    (Important: Make sure the inventory item's account Detail Type in the Chart of Accounts is Sales of Product Income or else the Income Account choice will not show up.)
  5. If you want all previous use of the item to be changed, mark the box Also update this account in historical transactions. (Note: This box only becomes available after the account is changed.)
  6. Select Save and close.

Past transactions not showing the changes

If past transactions aren't showing the changes:

  1. Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar.
  2. Under Lists, select Products and Services.
  3. On the Action column of the Product/Service you want to edit, select Edit.

  4. From the Income Account drop-down, choose a different account
  5. Select Save and send.
