File your company's federal and state tax forms manually or electronically in Intuit Online Payroll.

Before you file

Federal and state forms are only available with an Enhanced subscription. If you have a Basic subscription, upgrade your subscription to Enhanced.

To upgrade:

  1. Select the Setup tab.
  2. Select Upgrade Service under Company and Account > Billing and Service.
  3. Select Payroll Enhanced, and then select Continue.

When filing state tax forms the method in which you file depends on your state's requirement:

  • For some states, we allow electronic filing of your tax form with your electronic tax payment.
  • For some states, we provide you with a pre-filled form that you will need to print, sign, and send it to the address we provide.
  • For some states, you'll need to use original, scannable forms provided by the state agency. We'll make available a worksheet that has the data you need to enter on each line of the form. You just need to copy the worksheet data to the original form, and then sign and send the form to the state agency.
