Learn how to view Form I-9 in Online Payroll.

By law you must verify that each new employee is legally eligible to work in the U.S.  To do this, you need the I-9 form. We explain this form and show you how to find it.

 

During employee setup we'll prompt you to generate Form 1-9. The instructions for Form I-9 tell you which documents you can use to verify that your employee is eligible to work in the U.S.

To generate a 1-9 form for your employee, follow these steps.

Intuit Online Payroll

  1. Select Taxes & Forms.
  2. Under Forms, select Employee & Contractor Setup.
  3. Select Form I-9. Then select View.
  4. Select the printer icon to print.

QuickBooks Online Payroll

  1. Select Taxes. Then select Payroll Tax.
  2. Under Forms, select Employee Setup.
  3. Select the printer icon to print.
Note You do not need to file the I-9 forms with the USCIS or any other government agency. However, you should keep the forms on file. A U.S. government official can request to review the forms for one or more of your employees.
