This article describes how to view copies of QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Assisted filed tax returns in the Payroll Tax Center (PTC). For information on how to review and process tax forms for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced, please see our article on How to process payroll tax forms.


To view or print copies of filed taxes:

Note: If you receive an error or to bypass a pop-up blocker, as soon as the PTC opens, immediately, hold down the Ctrl (Control) and Alt keys through all prompts until the PDF opens.

  1. Choose Employees > Payroll Center.  Click the File Forms tab.
  2. Click View/Print forms & W-2s.
  3. Enter Payroll PIN. Click OK.
  4. In the upper-left corner of the Payroll Tax Center window, click Filed Forms.
  5. Select the forms you want to view or print.
  6. At bottom of the list of filings, click Open/Save.

Forms are available to view or print approximately 35 days after the end of the quarter. See the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Assisted Quick Tax Guide for more information.

Note: Zero returns are posted in the PTC as a standard practice.
