Learn how to disable an app in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

If you need to disconnect an app, or you're a Firm user or Firm Owner and need to do it for one of your clients,  you can within QuickBooks Online Accountant. We'll show you how.

If you're the user that connected the app

Users can easily disconnect apps that they installed.

  1. From the left menu select Apps.
  2. Select Firm apps at the top.
  3. Choose Settings at the Action drop-down.
  4. Select Disconnect.
  5. Complete the short questionnaire.
  6. Select Disconnect to remove the app from your company file.

If you're not the user that connected the app

Only Firm owners and users with admin access can disconnect apps for a client.

  1. Take over the connection from the other user.
    1. From the left menu select Apps.
    2. Search for the app you're interested in.
    3. Select the app, then Get App Now.
    4. Review the message details and select Connect anyway.
    5. Adjust the settings as necessary.
    6. Make sure the app is now associated with your user ID.
  2. Disconnect the app once you ensure that it's now associated with your user ID.
    1. From the left menu select Apps.
    2. Select Firm apps.
    3. Choose Settings at the Action drop-down.
    4. Select Disconnect.
    5. Complete the short questionnaire.
    6. Select Disconnect to remove the app from your company file.
