Your self-employment tax is only based on your 1099 earnings. However, your income tax is based on both your 1099 and W-2 earnings, so having both types may increase your income tax bracket. We calculate your self-employment taxes based on your business income, spending, allowable expenses and the information you have set up in your Tax Profile, where you can enter your W-2 information. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Tap the cogwheel in the upper left corner.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Tax Profile.
  3. Select the tax year you wish to add or edit.
  4. Enter the your basic, personal, deduction and Home office information.
  5. Tap Save in the upper right corner.
