To get an authorization:

  1. Go to http://merchantcenter.intuit.com and sign in.
  2. Select Processing Tools.
  3. Select Authorize Funds.
  4. Enter the card number, expiration date, cardholder name, and the security code.
  5. Enter the cardholder billing address (or at least the zip code)
  6. Select Submit.

To capture the funds:

  1. Open QuickBooks Payments through this site: https://merchantcenter.intuit.com
  2. Select Processing Tools, then select Capture Funds.
  3. Enter the date range of the authorization.
  4. Select Search.
  5. Select the box next to the Transaction ID for the authorization.
  6. Select Submit.
