Keeping Everybody on the Job Well

Five Steps You Can Take Right Now to Help Everybody to Better Health:
  1. Who owns the program? Management? Find a sparkplug, somebody on the floor who a. knows how important this is and b. won't let go of it. Let the crew drive it.
  2. Talk first hand to wellness resources in your community. Don't assume that costs are too high. Try the YMCA for discounted memberships and offer full memberships for a set number of sessions every month. Private health clubs are challenged by this economy too. It might not be as expensive as it use to be.
  3. Negotiate with an insurance carrier. Maybe an ounce of prevention can lower some premium costs.
  4. Set an example. If the owner isn't committed, the enthusiasm isn't likely to spread either.
  5. With all due respect to the struggle to quit smoking, don't give up on people. Find support resources like the American Cancer Society you can partner with. The key is to keep the support strong and consistent with your employees. Find ways to reward good things
