Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

Wrong charges by Intuit

Customer Manager Online

I have GoPayment and have been swiping all my credit cards, why am I being charged the key in rates of 3.7%? I'm supposed to be charged 2.7% based on my agreement with intuit.

Leeupset,   With the pay as you go plan the rates are 2.7% for swiped, 3.7% for manually keyed in and 3.7% for business cards, international cards, and rewards cards. So you may have some of those other types of cards and that is why you may be getting the 3.7% charged to your account

Card companies determine what tier your transactions will fall into, and thus how the transactions will be charged.  The card companies send us a report at the end of each month that establish the percentage charged.  Because we do not know what the final charge for your transactions are during the month, whenever you run a card – any card – we’ll always charge you the lowest qualified rate.  This charge is generally seen at the same time the deposit is received.  If, at the end of the month, the card companies advise us the transactions processed were actually mid- or non-qualified, we will charge you the difference between the mid- or non-qualified rate and the qualified rate we already charged during the month.

GoPayment currently has two different pricing plans, both of which can have transactions downgraded to 3.7%.

Pricing Plan Details

Pay As You Go (suggested to merchants who process less than $1000.00/month, as a means of cost efficiency)

·         Monthly Fee: $0.00/month

·         Swiped Rate: 2.7%

·         Keyed Rate: 3.7%

High Volume (suggested to merchants who process more than $1000.00/month, as a means of cost efficiency)

·         Monthly Fee: $12.95/month

·         Swiped Rate: 1.7%

·         Keyed Rate: 2.7%

I hope this helps.
