Card companies determine what tier your transactions will fall into, and thus how the transactions will be charged. The card companies send us a report at the end of each month that establish the percentage charged. Because we do not know what the final charge for your transactions are during the month, whenever you run a card – any card – we’ll always charge you the lowest qualified rate. This charge is generally seen at the same time the deposit is received. If, at the end of the month, the card companies advise us the transactions processed were actually mid- or non-qualified, we will charge you the difference between the mid- or non-qualified rate and the qualified rate we already charged during the month.
GoPayment currently has two different pricing plans, both of which can have transactions downgraded to 3.7%.
