Will users ever be allowed to make useful backup copies to our hard drives? With QBs Pro, I make backups every time I use it. There's a different copy every day. If your system goes down before the backup is done, we all lose a day's work.

We have a feature called Local Copy that might help. I am also including some information on how QuickBooks Online handles your data.
Click on, "QuickBooks Online data security and backup options" for more information.
Host_Cheryl - The local copy is only there to make us think we're making a useful copy. It can't be used for restoring data. I'm not making this up. Before actually making a local copy in QBO, read what the instruction say the local copy is for.

QuickBooks Online can also export a copy to the QuickBooks desktop version. You would follow the same steps except click on the link for Export Interview instead of Local copy. The Local Copy is mainly designed as a read only version of the data, whereas the Export to QuickBooks Desktop will allow the data to be accessed in that version.
Host_Cheryl - That's not practical if I don't have QBs Pro. I shouldn't have to get a desktop version and export, just so I can have a copy of my data on my hard drive or other local drive. If I had a desktop version, I wouldn't need QBO.

Is there a specific application on your hard drive that you would like to see the QuickBooks Online data go to? Let me know so I can submit that feedback on your behalf.
No specific app. Just like backup files from QBs Pro don't have to go to any specific app. It would just be great if QBO had the ability for us to save a restorable file on either our hard drives or other drive instead of relying on the once daily backup that's BBO servers do.
Anything can happen between the time we enter data and the time QBO does its backup.
