Will all my tax returns be on extension this year?
when will I be able to file 1065,1120 and 1120s? Will it be before 3/15/2011 or will I have to file extensions. Oh yesI cannot efile NYS-EXT because Lacerte does not do it.

The 1065,1120,1120S,1041, and many of the 1040 schedules are never ready this early. It seems to be driving more preparers crazy this year, but I've been a Lacerte customer since 1987 and I can't ever remember filing the entity returns this early. Many of the schedules are not even approved by IRS yet this year so there is no way Lacerte could have them. I have several 1040's and 1120's entered and ready to go so when the forms are approved it's just a matter of clicking a button.
I was comparing to last year as I can tell when a return is accepted(meaning I have my efiling) and this year nothing but last year I had at least 5-7 finalized and waiting tor the efiling signature from my client.
This among other things like only being able to file 1 IT204LL from the 1040 module (for clients who have many disregarded business) is really driving me crazy. I know press the button and tell Lacerte. Well it appears that Lacerte should actually speak (contact people be proactive) to people who actually prepare returns.
In regard to contacting Lacerte about program bugs there is one that I have asked to be corrected for at least 15 years and was told it was not that big a deal.
I have been with Lacerte since I got my first PC NEC 386 with 2 megs (not gigs) of Ram. Maybe before when I had my Bourghs B90.
Hey Marty, did you see BuffaloBob's post on this thread? I confirmed that this will work and we've updated the related support articles (for what it's worth)
IF everything is going to be available for paper or e-file by MID-FEB why would all of your returns be on extension 3-15-11, a month later?
Sounds like sarcasm to me
Or perhaps trying to plan a 6 week winter vacation and just wanted assurance that he would not miss any of the tax season action.
Thanks for the laugh
Sounds like sarcasm to me---110%
Every Acct does Tax Season differently. I have about 80% of my Corps, SCorps and 1065 done. Expect to have the rest done by Feb 4. Then on to 1040s.To me this is very late compared to what I did last year!
