Does one have a * next to it? If so, remove the star to merge them. If not, someone created the second account. To merge them, make sure they have the same exact name (a copy/paste helps).

Ruth, I am having the same problem all of a sudden in the past month or two. I tried to zero out the "created" one (it has a * in front of it) and move all the items that were in it to the real account, but it just recreates it. I tried to merge it like you have here but Quickbooks says I cannot merge Quickbooks special Undeposite Funds account. Any other suggestions?
