Which QuickBooks reports are you using to help you manage your business?
I'm interested in learning which QuickBooks reports you are using and how those reports help you better manage your business.

Monthly: P&L, BS and Statement of Cash Flow. Accrual basis is for management. Quarterly, cash basis is for tax picture monitoring.
Customer Aging, after due date to assess late fees. Again after end of late period notification. For the water users' district I manage, this is going to be their shut off date.
Customized Customer Aging Summary report, filtered to show >=0, since I now have customers paying in advance. This report is for the board, to filter out credits and show only those customers that have amounts due, and to show a more accurate amount receivable. If there are credits, it impacts the balances on the regular AR Aging report.
Sales by Customer with columns by Item Type. I show this to my students after we have done an exercise that includes Discounts. It's easy to offer discounts when you can't see their impact to your bottom line.
Sales by Item to determine if it is worth keeping stock or doing order-as-needed.
Payroll Summary reports for BLS reporting. There's nothing ilke getting notified that you have been selected for statistic reporting.
Custom transaction reports on Liability accounts grouped by Customers to track retainers (advanced deposits). Same type of report on Asset accounts grouped by name to track employee receivables.
Balance sheet as of the 1st of each month, bank accounts only, to show fund balancing per accounting requirements laid out in a bond document.
Banking deposit custom report to show payments processed. I hate the canned Deposit Detail report.
Custom P&L reports filtered on selected income and expense accounts. This file should have had Classes set up but the previous user set up accounts for three funding sources. The custom reports are the only way to report P&:L by project. Thankfully, after this month, those projects are done.
Yes, we have some fun with reporting.

Transaction list by account and by date.
Sales by items. Which do I sell the most of?
All the Payroll reports.
General Ledger.
A/R, A/P
Classes.
I use them all for what I want to know.
Why are you asking?
Hope this helps! If so, please mark Solved. Thanks so much.
Debbie

I asking to get a sense of what other people are doing in their businesses, thanks.
