Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

You need to check with your accountant on this. Some people pay the IRS directly online while others pay their bank & the bank makes the payment..

It depends on how you have your chart setup & how the entries are being posted whether it all goes into 1 account or not.

Hope this helps. If so please mark solved, if not please ask more questions. Thanks!

When you received your a federal employer identification number (FEIN), you also should have received information about how and when your company is required to send the amount withheld.  Also, you could have preprinted forms that you need to submit, and helpful information could be printed on the back side of the forms.  Requirements differ by company, because they are based on the size of your payroll and how often you process it.  If you can not find this information, call the IRS to ask for another copy, as it is important to have in your records.  If you are not the person who signed the application for the FEIN, ask that person to call, as the IRS will only give information to the person who signed the application.

In the second part of your question, you refer to "all the withholdings."  Do you mean state tax withholdings, state disability withholdings, or local tax withholdings?  If so, I recommend setting up a separate liability account for each payment type you need to make.  You could make them all sub-accounts of one account called "Payroll Tax Liabilities," but separate accounts provide better supporting documentation for each amount sent in.

Thank you.
