Where do I enter nominee amounts for 1099-div? I need to split the dividend proceeds as well as capital gains but I can't see where I can enter the nominee information. Do I need to override fields to do this?
Double click on the Payer Name line and it will open another window to enter additional information, including Nominee amounts.
Thanks Nielan. That worked for the 1099-DIV but I still can't find a spot to enter this information for capital gains/losses. Am I missing something?
I don't see a way to nominee the capital gains portion of the dividends either, hopefully someone else will have a more complete answer for you.
I just enter a line on the D to (negative) out the gain or (positive) out the loss.
Be careful of 1099-B totals, however.
I follow the same procedure as AM, attaching a note with all the nominee information.
Thanks Accountant Man...why the caution on the 1099-B totals? That is one of the items I need to split with the Nominee note.
If TP A gets the 1099-B for $20,000, but only half is his, and he reports only $10,000 on his D, will the IRS send him a notice?
