What is the process for correcting a prior year's erroneous 1099?
Taxpayer put the wrong social security number on a 1099 she issued to a vendor back in 2007. She wants to correct it. What is the process for correcting this?

See the general instructions for 1099 www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1099g... Section H starting at page 6 ff. If the Payer info was wrong, see the upper left corner of page 6.
I would think that any damage from an incorrect 2007 form 1099 has already been done and that the error would have shown up and been corrected by now.
