What is the MTOT DISC for on my statement.

Credit Card Processing Kit

What is the MTOT DISC for on my statement. I saw on another answer to a question about this charge was that it was for Credit Card Discounts. How can there be more credit card discounts on top the daily credit card discount? What exactly is MTOT for?

Total of all charges minus what you have already paid. Sum each card's total (MasterCard, Visa and Discover) and subtract the less discount paid amount. The card totals appear in the Summary of Card Fees section on the Merchant Statement. The MTOT is the monthly total charge.

OK, how come there is a higher amount charged than what is already being held out for the original discount amount? Shouldn't this all be calculated since the percentage discount rate is a set rate?
