What is the difference between Premier & Premier Accountant?

US QuickBooks Premier

I'm trying to understand the difference between Premier & Premier Accountant. With Premier Accountant do I still get Premier and have the ability to use the software to set up my own company's finances?

Hi Harlan

With QuickBooks Premier Accountant you get all versions of QuickBooks Premier Like the contractors version and retail and so on and you can Toggle between versions. If you buy just premier you don;t get this feature. All versions are the same but the reporting is different. I would purchase the Accountant version so I have more choices on reports.

Pro, Premier and Enterprise all have the same interface just Premier has more reports and you can do assembly builds with it. Enterprise has more lists capabilities. With Pro and Premier you only have 14500 total names you can use this includes vendors customers and employees. and with enterprise you get 100,000.

If its just a simple company you might want to save some money and go with QB Pro.

Thank you

Premier Accountant is one edition aside from contractor, non-profit etc. Premier is the version of quickbooks where you can toggle between editions from simple start to premier accountant.

You can only toggle between versions or editions with QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition -- no other Premier Edition has the toggle feature.

Some features unique to the Accountant Edition include:  Working Trial Balance, Client Data Review, Fixed Asset Manager, the ability to work with Accountant's Copy files, Adjusting/Reversing JEs and optional Intuit Statement Writer.  Full details to compare at www.quickbooks.com

Premier Accountant Edition would be the choice if you'll be working with multiple clients.  Some of my clients even get it for the additional features that are not in the other versions of Premier.  Yes, you can set up your own file in any of them.
