What is QBCFMonitorService.exe?
What is QBCFMonitorService.exe and how do I disable the process within Quickbooks 2009? This process starts when windows starts, and without starting Quickbooks.

its a service component that automatically starts up specifically for multi user purposes. itd needed incase if you wish tou use multi user, even though quickbooks is not yet running.
you can end that by pulling up the services.msc, and stop it
It sounds like this has worked, but to only a slightly above normal computer ability user, How does one "pull up the services.msc, and stop it??"
Please define and list how to do this. Thanks!
I am a single user. I will never need this program. Why can't it start when Quick Books is started and end when QB ends? There must be others reasons Intuit keeps this program running ALL OF THE TIME, even when I haven't started QB in a month.
I can blast it out of my system using task manager. (not recommended). I can use msconfig to confugure what starts when my PC is booted. This is a highly technical technique. Somehow this preference gets reset automatically and I must use msconfig again to uncheck its auto-starting. There has to be a better way to stop it. Where can I request a patch from Intuit to do this?
I have the same problem. I do NOT want to have to go out and buy more memorty to accomodate a bunch of programs that i am not using!
"I can use msconfig to confugure what starts when my PC is booted."
Hey NotAccountant,
You got further along than i did. I don't even see any QB programs listed on my start up menu on msconfig. Otherwise i'd just disable it.
Thanks for the post.
You need to go to
Run
MSconfig
Services (not Startup)
I finally found it here. Hooray!
I've turned this to manual using services and MSCONFIG and evertime I start quickbooks it resets it to automatic.
Ahhh! Where's the edit option?!? The atrocious spelling makes me look like an idiot.
Oh well.
"you can end that by pulling up the services.msc, and stop it"
Smoochie,
Thank you! I never knew this existed! I'm constantly editing my startup menu on msconfig but i never knew of 'services.' This solves my QB question AND another problem that i had which was totally unrelated.
Thank you! Thank you! Five stars from me!
For those of us who DO have networks (between my laptop & PC) this program runs all the time so that I can open QB on the laptop without it running on the PC.
In services.msc you can disable it OR you can set it to launch manually rather then automatically (at boot.) This does save memory and I can still work from the laptop.
Great solution. Not only does it not run all the time, but QB starts up MUCH faster in single user mode!
Thanks!
Thanks guys that worked great!
Hats off to you all!
