Virginia Pass Through Form 502

On the Virginia 502 we get an error message that the account number must begin with a 38 or 67. this seems incorrect, since our own firm's (an S Corp) VA number begins with a 30. Is it?

I'm getting the same error. I've been using turbotax for 8 years and this is the first time it has casued a problem. My number begins with a 03. Register in1989. Just for info, in 2004 the S corp for Virginia changed from 500S to the 502.

Hello David338!

This is correct based on the Virginia Voucher Specifications. Pass-Through Entities must have a VA Corp Account Number that start with "38" and Litter Tax returns (Form 200) must have a VA Corp Account Number that start with "67." This is because of the scannable forms and 2D barcodes.

I get the same issue......I think it is looking for your VEC account number. That is the only account number that I have that matches (ie. stars with a 38). However, I've used my S-Corp number for years (starts with 03). I received this same error last year and continued to use my S-corp number with no problems. Looking at the 502 Pass- through, it appears to base it off your Fed ID number.......I will continue to use my S-Corp number.
