Vehicle and vehicle depreciation

ProLine Tax Online

HELP!!!!!! Stuck in this vehicle part of the software.
1. Sched C Auto & Truck exp. require evidence to support the deduction.
2. Depreciation asset #1 Invalid entry in 1 If vehicle improvement, asset name or number of vehicle.  Cannot delete entered 1

Looks like you put an entry in that shouldn't be there.  Go back to your ENTER DATA tab and back into your depreciation details screen.  Scroll down to the Automobiles and Other Listed Property section, then go down to the very last question.  Use the drop down to change this entry back to -Select One- and your diagnostics should go away.

This is a new question, and I'm not really certain what it is for.  Perhaps there has been an increase in taxpayers making high-dollar improvements to a vehicle, and therefore the improvements are to be depreciated as a separate asset from the vehicle.  This box would link the two assets together.  By your checking this box, however, you have created a circular reference of the asset to itself and that is what is causing the diagnostic.
