When installing two seperate versions pf QB on same PC its necessary to install to different directories.

I use Intuit 2012 & Intuit 2013 etc so my QB 2010 install is in C:\Intuit2010.

Then its should all work. Also open the shortcut for each version to make sure they are pointing to the correct path.

QB2010 will be sunset around the end of Apr (or is it May) 2013. Once sunset, none of the on line banking features will work. I wonder if it is really worth it to try to get this set up when in about 3 months it will cease to work.

I'm not familiar with the term "sunset". From your answer I get that it will cease to work. Does that mean it will not function as a standalone, have no online support, or that it will cease to function?

It will not cease to function, it's just that all support will be discontinued.  You can't email from it, can't use payroll, can't use any electronic processes (download bank transactions, merchant servcies, etc.)

The solution

Create a backup, then restore it to the new directory.
