Using Accountant Transfer files for YE

US QuickBooks Premier : 2012: Accountant

Quickbooks 2011
Windows 7
Accountant transfer files
My client sent files at YE 12/31/2011. I am not finished with my entries for YE.
If he sends me transfer files at 01/31/2011 he will not be able to accept my 12/31/2011.
Is this a correct understan
