Can I use the API_GetRoleInfo to capture the role of the currently logged in user? I just want the role of the currently logged in user. If not, can I capture the role of the currently logged in user some other way?

This almost works. This code will return the role of those that possess Full Admin rights or Basic Access with Sharing, but not "Basic Access" , which is the highest level of permissions of most of my users. The js message returned for those roles says, "Undefined". Is there way to 'capture' all roles regardless of permissions? I have 97 different roles where I want to pre-populate a parent drop-down selection list as a courtesy since that selection list will contain only their Plant name. So to avoid making them bother selecting just one choice, I am using 97 form rules based on their role to set that field to the related ID of their Plant name and pre-populating the field form them.
But there is no way (that I know of) to cause an action based on Roles unless it's done via form rules. The form rule maintenance would be ongoing and too tricky for the average user to execute.
