Use of mouse within ProSeries.
How do you get the scroll button on the mouse to work within tax forms in ProSeries?
How do you get the scroll button on the mouse to work within tax forms in ProSeries?

My mouse works; what effects are you missing? You have to be "on" a form, meaning click on a box.

Mine works too.

Mine works also so we have triple dipple

I've never had any trouble, but I do leave mine a piece of cheese before I go home at night. Have you tried rebooting your computer to see if that makes any difference? Also does it work with other applications or is ProSeries the only problem.

I had the same problem on a new computer with Vista. I was using MS Intellimouse. I tried 3 different wireless and 1 wire mouse. Nothing. At a last ditch effort, I bought a Logitech Performance MX. It works perfectly. Lots of bells & whistles and rather pricey - but no complaints now. BTW, I even had tech support come in remotely (they must have thought I was a dummy) and they couldn't figure out why the other mouse wouldn't work. Good luck.

Vista. Bleccchhhh!

I agree, Arch.
I have Windows 7 (64 bit) and the scroll function on my basic mouse works in all other programs except 2009 ProSeries. As I am typing, I am on hold with tech support and they cannot, as of this moment, figure it out!! I appreciate all responses but I cannot get it to work yet.
I have windows XP and in homebase I have to click on a client and then the scroll feature works. Try doing that in any field in a form and see if the scroll feature works.

I had no problem with XP; it was only when I got my new machine this summer with Vista that I had the problem. And the problem was only with PS. You serious might want to consider a new mouse. I don't think tech support is going to be able to help with this.
I have tried to get things to work within many forms--no luck. One of the help support managers at Intuit said that Windows 7 is supported by ProSeries but that the mouse scroll function is not considered one of the supported functions--he said it might work or it might not. He suggested I try to change the drivers for the mouse or get another mouse--but no promises!! Oh well. Better than Vista but I never should have left XP!!

Check your mouse settings in Control Panel.

Oh, I get it. W7 is supported by ProSeries, but its FUNCTIONS aren't supported. I guess it's just supplying moral support. Nice.

Charlotte, if you knew how many hours I had spent downloading drivers and changing control panel settings... Let's just say it was time wasted.
je, consider the new mouse I mentioned above. When I bought it at Staples, I explained my problem and was told that if it didn't work in the program I needed, I could return it. I was literally at the point where I was considering changing programs because of functionality.

Were you ever able to resolve this issue?
As of today, my only option seems to be to try a different a different mouse. Not the best answer but all I can think of at this point.
Je: I thought I was the only one with this problem and maybe a little crazy. Well the definitely crazy part. After reading this post I went to Staples and bought another mouse. Microsoft Moblie Wireless 6000. Well, it still doesn't scroll that great. I took the wireless mouse from my laptop ( I hate the tap buttons on a laptop. (I'm old school) and that worked great. It's a Logitech. I don't know the model number because I've had it for a while. I'm returning the Microsoft and getting another Logitech. I don't know if the new Logitech will scroll or not. Will update when I get it. Deb

Deb & je, do consider the Logitech Performance MX. It has worked like a dream. I seriously thought I might have to change software over a mouse issue. Now I'm a happy camper again.
Je and tilt: Went to Staples today and brought home a Logitech Anywhere Mouse and a V450. Both worked. The Performance MX was too big for my hand. The V450 was the best of the 2 for me. So je good luck and report back. D.
