why is UPS rates online different then quickbooks charges
I find that there can be 3 different rates: what UPS.com shows, what QB Shipping Manager shows, and what UPS Worldship shows.
The rate you see in Shipping Manager is an estimnate, not what you are actually billed.
For a given shipment, you will be billed the same by all systems. The rate comes from your account.
That does not solve the problem of how to acturately bill the customer. There is no reason this should be an estimate. All retail rates should be the same. Yes, we might all have different contract rates with UPS but it is the retail rates which is at issue here.
Shipping Manager has a setting to control if it shows "retail location" rates or daily pickup rates.
Sounds like you might have it set to "retail" or "occassional" pickup rates, which are higher.
Once this is set, Shipping Mgr will show the same rates as ups.com.
