Upgrading from very early versions of QB

I have a client who needs to upgrade to 2007 Pro. They have a very old version of QB. Unfortunately in my hurry to get to a client's office, I forgot to ask HOW old, but I got the impression that it is from somewhere in the years of 1999 to 2002.Does anyone know if there are any upgrade limitations in 2007? For example, will it only go back to 2001, or anything like that?I have 2002, 2003, 2006, as well as 2007. If there are any limitations, can I use 2002 or 2003 to leapfrog forward to 2007?

I heard that 2007 might not be able to upgrade an older file.

I upgraded a 2002 with no problem, but had my client make a backup for me on disk in case I had to leapfrog it (as you said). Tech support said that would work, if the direct upgrade didn't.

I upgraded the file in my office (where I have all of the versions available) and then made a PCF to load when I went to install '07 on site.
