Updated ? Urgent message for ProSeries customers Issue On April 8, Microsoft issued several Windows updates. Some ProSeries customers who have installed the updates received an error message (Error Code 4-0) and are unable to e-file or print tax returns. Workaround Solutions This issue is not affecting all ProSeries customers; but, depending upon your system settings, you may be scheduled to get automatic updates from Microsoft. Because you are working during this critical period before the April 15 filing date, we recommend the following to avoid possible impact: ? Check the systems settings on your PC regarding automatic updates. You may not want updates to automatically install until after April 15. Instructions for changing the PC settings for automatic updating in XP are available on Microsoft?s site at: http://support.microsoft.com/k... and are summarized here: 1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then press ENTER. 2. Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click to select one of the scheduling options. Note: If you choose a day for automatic scheduling, you may want to consider making it after the April 15 filing deadline.
