unknown credit card type.

QuickBooks Point of Sale : Pro 9.0

Known’s

Using : QB POS V9

QB Fin 2011pro

QB Web connector 2.0.0.139

PDG shopping Cart V5

Transactions download and process into POS with no errors.

I get the following message with no error for each credit card transaction when I do the financial exchange with QB Fin

“Read receipt #xxx created on 1/5/2012 for $122.66.
Receipt #xxx created on 1/5/2012 has unknown credit card type.
Receipt #xxx created on 1/5/2012 is skipped from processing.”

What I notice is if the payment is made with PayPal Express it is downloaded as a cash transaction into POS and exchanges with QB Fin fine.

If the transaction is made with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX the transaction shows in POS as credit card but does not have card number or authorization number like a normal POS sale. These are the transaction that do not exchange.

I have captured the file that the web connector downloads and I see the authorization number and credit card type. I need someone to tell me what information in this file QB needs to process the transaction correctly. QB support have been NO HELP.

Yes and they worked on it. They said it had to be the web connector, because the sale completes in POS but will not sync with QB Fin

Hello,

I'm posting this as an update.  We worked on this issue and were able to narrow down the problem area.

The problem stems from the fact that when web connector imports the transactions to QuickBooks POS it used the payment method as Credit Card, which there is no way to map the credit card payment method in POS to a payment method in QuickBooks financial.  We needed to change the way the transactions were importing into POS.

We downloaded the file before trying to use web connector to import and opened it up with note pad.(double click and choose notepad when it asks you what program to use).
Line P had in quotes Credit.  We changed that to Remote then saved.

Then the file was re-uploaded the ftp site, and web connecter was used to bring in the file.  The file imported as a cash transaction and was able to send over to QuickBooks financial.

The next step was to contact PDG and see if there was a way that they could create the file with the term Remote on the line P

Hope this helps.
