I am creating a new company from a company that is too big. I have exported the lists and gone thru the payroll setup. I get an error message when trying to open the employee center and the company closes. 1433364060. I also need to delete employees who are no longer employed-even though they were marked as terminated, they copied over.

I cannot access the FILE.. Utilities.. Rebuild.. solution that you mention above.
Once I click on send or do not send file closes out.
Any ideas?

Are you able to open the company file without error? If so, run the Verify utility before doing anything else.

any thoughts on this guys? Everything else works just when you click the employee center icon in the program, it says quickbooks has encountered an error.

I'm sorry you're having this problem. Try opening a sample co. file and see if the same error occurs. If so, run the repair utility for the program. From your control panel, select Add / Remove Programs and click on QuickBooks. Click the Remove button and when given the choice, select Repair. If that doesn't resolve the issue, uninstall and reinstall QuickBooks. Remember to get all program and payroll updates if re-installation is necessary.
