When I write a check to a person for travel expense, why doesn't it put the name of the person on the check in the Quick Report that is created.

Your question is a bit vague, since you can trigger a QuickReport from a name, an account, etc. Also, have you checked the Modify button, to see if Name is simply not selected for display? QuickReports aren't worth a whole lot of effort. Maybe the report you should be using is the Check Detail report.
