Tracking lead sources
My client is a contractor and wants to track the advertising sources that the job came from. How can I do that in 2008 Contractor edition.

You could create different types for the customers based on advertising source. Then, you get get reports of sales by 'type' of customer. This works unless they are already using 'type' for a different purpose.
Another way would be to define a custom field for the customers. Then, you could put the advertising/referral source in and pull it for reports and sort by it.
Try different methods in a practice file and see which method works best for you and gives you the reports you want/need.
