Track WCB for Vendor/Sub-contractor

QuickBooks Canada : Premier 2012

I have a sub-contractor/vendor, who doesn't have their own WCB, so I need to cover them.  How do I keep track of who they are and how much to report??  Can't find the answer anywhere :(

I make sure that they are noted as not having workmans comp in their vendor set up and if you have several you might want to keep a list of them.  Be sure your subs break down each invoice between labor and materials so you dont pay workmans comp on the materials portion.  If it's not seperated, you will be charged by your carrier for the full amount!

If you ck your office's w/comp policy, it should break down each class of work under a class code and give you a rate for that type of work. You take the total labor on the invoices x your net rate, divide that figure by 100 and it will give you the premium due. If you are unsure if it works the same where you are....Im a California contractor, contact your w/c insurance broker and they can help you.  If not, they will find it when they audit you and you pay the premiums then.
