I think it is not having the money to last till you start making a profit. A business can take several years to show a profit.
Hi Merrin!
Thanks for sharing this. I read this article too and I'm glad someone took the time to share it here. Really worth the read.
One of the bigger surprises in the article is the fact that too much growth can lead to a downfall. Growth would seem to be an indicator of success and the last thing you would expect to sink a business. While some of the points listed here may be out of your control (rent, etc.), hopefully some of the reasons listed here will serve as a guide to a healthy business.
Here to a profitable year for all of our small businesses out there!

Great article awesome
In addition:
Some time business also fail because of technology turn over and certain product has no market.
If its too competitive market; it also lead to collapse due to lack of advertisement or customer service etc
Some time businesses don't move with the industry need and they still rely on the old technology and methods.
True....... setting up in the right market is necessary. A proper market analysis must be done of the same and I believe, prior to the set up a proper market entry strategy must be drawn up.
Hi Merrin.
I love your article♫ Great points to think about especially for us-small, yet to grow businesses.

Thanks for sharing! I agree with a lot of the points that were made. I believe the “poor accounting” section in particular is the cause for many failing businesses. You must be able to communicate all financial information about a business entity to users such as shareholders and managers. Accounting is called "the language of business" for a reason. It’s critical to have a successful accounting system in order to maintain a successful business. It’s also important for businesses to appropriately delegate responsibilities. As the article stated, as a new entrepreneur you will have to wear many hats until you hire someone who specializes in that particular area. Learn as much as possible to be successful in that spot. Accounting is not the easiest thing to learn, but it is an important part of building and maintaining a successful business.

Thanks for sharing this article! I think the problem is our limited options to go against the big businesses. They have the money to advertise, that we lack. I read an article about ReadThrough Marketing... has anyone else heard of this?
thanks for sharing, i could actually see my own business in this.
Thanks for shedding light on this subject, it's an interesting and useful take on things. Whatever the reasons for failure, seems that in business, there are many more ways to go wrong than there are to go right. This is one reason I harp on being a slasher. It reduces some of the inherent risks in sustaining a business.
All the best!
For what it's worth, I got a 404 error page when I clicked the original link to the article on the Top-10 reasons why small businesses fail.
Thanks Covington! I guess the yahoo link expired. I found the original link and it now works. A good read!
The fail because their income can not cpver expenses. The first step is break even point. Then yoy start to make a profit.

That’s surely an interesting article, but I think any business would prosper if we will focus on “reasons of a successful business”.
good article , thank you for sharing
You have to be very focused. I have focused every day for the last 3 months on marketing. I do Incomes and the tax season just started. I moved my website up to number 1 in Goggle. It took countless hours of work
can you post here for everyone read, it's nice tip !
I think that many businesses fail because of poor planning to begin with. If you chose a business that isn't needed in your community, you stack the deck against yourself right from the very beginning.
Yes, poor planning is the most important reson of business failure. Also, sometimes businesses don't understand exactly what customers want, in short they misunderstand their target market and ultimately business fails.
I agree to your POV. Revenue is the life element of the business and it ought to be earned through innopvative manners in business without affecting the ethics. At certain instances, the technology obsolence also may lead to loss in business. You have to be Udated as per trends in market for earning profit.
